I Wished for a Wish

Wished for a poem,

A verse for change.

For words of victory,

A celebrated history.

Wished for a song,

A ballad of love.

Days we could reminisce,

A utopia of bliss.

Wished for some color,

In a bleak, ashen world.

Paint me a rainbow,

A vivid spectacle aglow.

Wished for a sign,

A shred of faith.

Prosperity in the  making,

And where hope is for the taking.

Wished for a dream,

An impossible fantasy,

To build citadels so mighty,

so breathtakingly shiny.

I wished for a wish,

To stop time endlessly,

For days filled with wonder,

A life of glee,

For you and me.
