Dark To Dawn
The year was brand new,
What was coming; we had no clue
We would know and we would dream,
Of things unknown and things unseen.
We wished for tangerine dawns and stunning sunsets,
With unending ambition and no regrets,
Sunny days and skies of clear blue,
Refreshing rain and glistening dew.
Happy hours and shooting stars.
As the days blew past,
Happiness didn't seem to last,
We wanted more than we could ask.
We knew not, what we were doing,
And down under, trouble was already brewing,
The Time of Horrors was ensuing.
Flashes of Red,
The living as good as dead.
The skies grew thicker, until we couldn't see the stars glitter,
The ice thawed and the earth filled with litter,
Birds fell from the sky and forests began to wither,
Our lives clothed in jeopardy, until we were forced to reconsider.
On our knees, we begged with beads,
For redemption from all our deeds,
The hope for a sign,
That all would be fine.
Flashes of Gold,
A new day for the bold.
Amber autumns and pearlescent winters,
Azure skies and gurgling rivers,
Lavender fields and turquoise seas,
Crimson blossoms and emerald leaves,
Birds filled the air,
Fireflies lit up the way.
Protection was vital, we now comprehended.
Hallelujah filled the air and woe be gone,
Finally,
The dark had a blazing new dawn!
